Andrew Burd ~ Age 4
Andrew, 4, was tortured and murdered by his foster parents, Larry and Hannah Overton. Hannah would put salt or chili pepper into a sippy cup and give it Andrew as punishment. Andrew died of Hypernatremia otherwise known as sodium poisoning.
Andrew was under constant video surveillance by his foster mother, Hannah Overton. She even used the camera to make sure Andrew didn’t get up in the night to even use the restroom. When he would use the bathroom on his bed, because he wasn’t allowed to get up, the sheets would be burned. After his death his mattress was found in the back yard and a piece of plywood in his room where he slept. She would send him to bed, sometimes two days in a row, without being able to eat.
On the the day Andrew fell ill, Hannah stated, she fixed two sippy cups, one with chili and water and one with salt and water. Then forced little Andrew to drink it. After the second cup he fell over, hit his head, vomited, and complained of being cold. Overton said she suspected the flu, but after an hour and a half, Andrew’s condition didn’t improve. That’s when she and her husband, Larry Overton, took Andrew to the hospital.
When Andrew arrived at a hospital in critical condition, doctors didn’t have a clue as to what was wrong with him. Blood tests soon revealed he had salt poisoning, or hypernatremia. Andrew’s levels were off the charts: almost double the norm and among the highest ever recorded.
Physicians at the hospital discovered that he had a burn on his right arm and bruising to his arms and legs. He also had scratches along his stomach, neck and head trauma, and bleeding on Andrews brain. The official cause of death was listed as Hypernatremia.
Hannah Overton was convicted of Capital Murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Andrew’s foster father, Larry Overton, plead guilty to Criminally Neglect Homicide. He was sentenced to five years deferred adjudication probation and a $5000.00 fine.

Hannah Overton’s father, Rev. Bennie Saenz, is a convicted murderer, found guilty of brutally beating a 17 year old girl to death on Padre Island over 20 years ago . Rev. Bennie Saenz was the pastor of Calvary Chapel Church, which is the same church that has been backing Hannah . The church believed Benny Saenz back then and even after he was convicted they believed he was innocent. Hannah’s grandfather was Marshall Applewhite, who is the Heavens’ Gate Cult leader, born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Applewhite convinced about 30 people to commit suicide in California in 1997. They expected to be transported by the Comet Hale-Bopp to another world. I can’t help but think that this may be a trinity of murder family.
